To the Wonderful Giving Helena Journey Community:
We are asking for Support for the Carroll College students who will be making their Search weekend this Friday, November 4th through Sunday, November 6th. Search is a chance for the Carroll College students to reflect on how their relationship with God is a part of their lives – a start for some and a continuation for others of their faith journey.
Support can be emailed to Kori Dee at kdee@jacobydee.com , dropped off at Kori Dee’s office, Jacoby & Dee Insurance at 931 N Last Chance Gulch or at Trinity Books and Gifts on Cedar. If you are in a time crunch, we also have the option of signing a poster for the students – the poster is at Trinity Books and Gifts. We would like to show the students our support as they celebrate and engage in their faith.
There is an added reason to ask for your support – the Carroll College students prepared over 60 letters of support for the inmates making their Discovery weekend at Montana State Prison in early October. In addition, the students prayed for the inmates all weekend and Fr. Marc offered Mass in their name.

The students from Carroll who provided a personal message of hope for the inmates was a great gift. There were 45 inmates that were with us the entire weekend. I introduced the general palanca poster signed with notes from the Carroll students during my Faith talk on Saturday. I told them that a number of students offered Mass before the weekend for the guys in the room and would be praying for them and offering Mass while the weekend was going on. I also mentioned there were personal notes that would be distributed later in the weekend. I noticed many of them reading the notes written on the poster throughout the weekend.
They are always amazed that people like the Carroll students would spend time thinking about the inmates much less praying for them and sending personal notes. It is one of the most powerful aspects of the weekend because it gives them hope that there are good people who have not forgotten them and maybe they can be forgiven for the harm they have caused.
During the witnessing at the end of the weekend many of the men alluded to all those who were praying for them and how unbelievable they thought that to be. The student's gift of time and prayer will remain with these guys for a long time.
I wish the Carroll students could have been there to see the men's faces and hear their stories. Since that is not possible, I would ask that you pass on to the men and women at Carroll how much appreciated their gift was to the inmates. They are truly part of the team that brings the Hope and Love of our Savior Jesus Christ to the inmates at MSP.
